We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented accounting professional to join our Sarasota, FL office. This in-office position reports directly to the CFO and will support both corporate and fund-level accounting functions. The role involves reviewing and interacting with external fund administrators, managing internal accounting using QuickBooks Online, overseeing cash management, and accounting for inter-company and fund transactions. This position will also work closely with portfolio managers to support accounting needs across fund investments. Experience with mortgage portfolios or other alternative investments is strongly preferred.

Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Review and reconcile financial reports, NAV calculations, and investor statements prepared by external fund administrators.
- Manage company-level accounting in QuickBooks Online, including general ledger, AP/AR, reconciliations, and expense tracking.
- Oversee cash management across multiple entities, ensuring efficient use of capital and adequate liquidity.
- Record and reconcile inter-company and fund transactions, including capital flows and allocations across funds.
- Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Support the CFO in financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and continually identifying opportunities for operational efficiencies.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers to analyze financial performance across the firm\'s investments in mortgage portfolios, commercial real estate, energy, and digital assets.
- Prepare audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, RIA regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial reporting and operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Professional accounting qualification desired but not a deal-breaker.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally within an RIA, asset management, or financial services environment.
- Proficient in accrual accounting and strong understanding of GAAP.
- Experience reviewing fund administrator deliverables (NAVs, reconciliations, investor reporting).
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and strong Excel skills.
- Knowledge of mortgage portfolios, structured finance, real estate, or alternative investments is a strong advantage.
- Experience with cash management and inter-company/fund accounting strongly desired.
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance considerations for RIAs is a plus.
