Rate of Pay

Starting at 19.75, we pay extra for relevant work experience.

Job Summary

The PDC Security Guard will work to maintain the safety and security of the Perishable Distribution Center. The guard is responsible for monitoring the physical security and safety of the facility. Individuals must be able to utilize CCTV, Access Control & Visitor registrations systems and regularly evaluate potential threats and take mitigation steps to maintain a high level of security. The Security guard must always be visible throughout the day and be on alert to evaluate and respond to issues. Individuals must operate with a sense of urgency and have strong interpersonal skills to partner with various individuals across the organization.

Primary Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

• Protect company assets by following and enforcing all security & safety protocols.
• Respond to all emergency situations and provide support until emergency services arrive. Properly document details for all emergencies in the Case Management System.
• Provide guidance and support to team members, visitors, and vendors in a professional manner to ensure they are following all safety and security protocols.
• Manage visitor registration and check-in process to ensure proper credentials are used for facility access.
• Escalate any concerns to the site Safety Manager in a timely manner.
• Ensure the safety of all team members, vendors, and visitors working in the facility.
• Follow all security post orders and directions from the site Safety Manager.
• Maintain a professional appearance and ensure tools (such as radios) are in good working order.
• Check in all inbound and outbound deliveries as directed by the site Safety Manager.
• Other duties as required by their supervisor.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in security management, law enforcement, or related security/police roles
• Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Working knowledge of security technology such as CCTV systems and Access Control Systems
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to pay close attention to detail
• Interest in protecting people and assets within the organization

Job Conditions

• Most of the time is spent moving about on hard surfaces; occasional bending, pulling, reaching, and/or stooping
• Occasionally lifting objects up to 30 pounds; may require lifting more with assistance
• Frequent exposure to seasonal weather during trailer and perimeter checks

In accordance with pay transparency requirements, the compensation range is a good faith estimate and may vary by location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position starts from $19.25.
