Part Time Warehouse Security Guard at BJ's Wholesale Club, Independence, KY. This role focuses on maintaining the safety and security of the facility and its team members, visitors, and vendors.

Job Summary

The PDC Security Guard will work to maintain the safety and security of the Perishable Distribution Center. The guard is responsible for monitoring the physical security and safety of the facility. The guard must be able to utilize CCTV, Access Control & Visitor registration systems and regularly evaluate potential threats and take mitigation steps to maintain a high level of security. The Security guard must always be visible throughout the day and be on alert to evaluate and respond to issues. The individual must operate with a sense of urgency and have strong interpersonal skills to partner with various individuals across the organization.

Primary Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

• Protect company assets by following and enforcing all security & safety protocols.
• Respond to all emergency situations and provide support until emergency services arrive. Properly document details for all emergencies in the Case Management System.
• Provide guidance and support to team members, visitors, and vendors in a professional manner to ensure safety and security protocols are followed.
• Manage visitor registration and check-in to ensure proper credentials for access to the facility.
• Escalate concerns to the site Safety Manager in a timely manner.
• Ensure the safety of all team members, vendors, and visitors in the facility.
• Follow all security post orders and directions from the site Safety Manager.
• Maintain a professional appearance and ensure tools (e.g., radios) are in good working order.
• Check in-bound and out-bound deliveries as directed by the site Safety Manager.
• Other duties as required by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in security management, law enforcement, or related security field.
• Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Working knowledge of security technology such as CCTV systems and Access Control Systems.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail.
• Interest in protecting people and assets within the organization.

Job Conditions

• Most of the time is spent moving about on hard surfaces; occasional bending, pulling, reaching, and stooping may be required.
• Occasionally lifts up to 30 pounds; may require moving heavier objects with assistance.
• Frequent exposure to seasonal weather during trailer and perimeter checks.

Compensation and Benefits

Rate of Pay: Starting at $19.25 per hour; extra pay for relevant work experience. BJ’s offers multiple benefit options and total compensation considered per location.
