Job Description
Senior Messaging & AD Consultant with engineering experience and 10-15 years of expertise.
Extensive and advanced knowledge of messaging, MS Exchange, Active Directory, LDAP, wireless systems, and large enterprise systems development methodologies.
The Messaging and Directory Services SME position requires in-depth knowledge of Microsoft-based infrastructure design and development, messaging and directory services best practices, and advanced systems engineering, operations, and management skills. The candidate should have architect-level experience planning, documenting, installing, managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting high-availability Exchange Server 2003, 2007, 2010, and 2013 environments. Experience with Active Directory for Windows Server 2003/2008/2012, wireless messaging technologies, and messaging security is also required.
Key responsibilities include:
• Managing daily operations of Messaging Systems, including Microsoft Exchange servers, Windows domain controllers, DNS, ADFS, and Azure AD Connect servers.
• Leading messaging projects, software upgrades, architecture changes, and new component implementations.
• Developing procedures for routine Exchange maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshooting messaging server issues collaboratively with IT teams and vendors.
• Developing Office 365 migration strategies from on-premises Exchange servers to Exchange Online.
• Monitoring and resolving escalated Service Desk incidents related to Exchange.
• Monitoring application performance and capacity planning.
• Participating in on-call rotations.
• Collaborating with the tools team for proper messaging application monitoring.
• Engaging in messaging engineering activities, including build documentation, testing, and deployment planning.
• Supporting AD consolidation projects, including migrating multiple domains and forests into the Enterprise Active Directory Forest.
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining Active Directory and third-party migration tools.
• Developing and enhancing PowerShell scripts as needed.
Candidates should have excellent communication and writing skills, organizational abilities, and the capacity to define and socialize new processes. They should be adaptable to change, comfortable working across organizational levels, team-oriented, and performance-driven.
