Overview
Manages assigned section of the corporate accounting team.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions

  • Leads the development and oversight of the Financial Reporting Accounting team. Ensures that the team members are adhering to standard operating procedures in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal accounting policies and procedures.
  • Drafts and implements accounting initiatives in accordance with requirements and procedures for new services.
  • Maintains awareness of updates and changes within accounting practices, standards, and procedures.
  • Oversees completion of monthly and quarterly consolidated financial statements.
  • Reviews completeness of the quarterly earnings release and quarterly S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reports 10Q and 10K in accordance with applicable department standards. Reviews, verifies, checks for inconsistencies, and reconciles variances.
  • Completes the quarterly GAAP checklist.
  • Reviews monthly variance analysis and footnotes to monthly financials.
  • Reviews monthly yield analysis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Experience Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in an accounting related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 10 years of Accounting experience, including 3 years of supervision.
Preferred Qualification
  • Previous experience in a financial institution.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated analysis skills in a financial environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Team player, able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.
