About the Team The Customer Experience (Marketing) team works to showcase our brand through the lens of expertise and love. They provide a personalized experience for our consumers backed by data-driven marketing capabilities. The Customer Experience team focuses across 4 departments including Marketing, Creative, Communications, and our Loyalty & CRM team. Everyone brings their own point of view to create a unique experience for the pets and pet parents.
About the Location Collaborative & Flexible Work Environment: This role is based at PetSmart’s Phoenix Home Office, with in-person collaboration and the flexibility to work remotely one day per week (a “flex workday” with leader approval), and an expected four days in the office.
About The Job PetSmart is seeking a strategic Brand Marketing Manager to support the development, execution, and production of high-impact, integrated marketing campaigns and in-store experiences. This role sits within our Integrated Marketing team and helps PetSmart connect deeply with pet parents and strengthen brand affinity. This role requires a proactive, creative and solutions-oriented marketer who can take campaigns and in-store activations from idea to execution—crafting the vision, setting the strategy, driving execution across multiple channels, scaling content production to maximize impact, and delivering measurable business results that deepen engagement with the PetSmart community.
You should have an analytical, customer-first mindset with a passion for continuous improvement, attention to detail and collaboration. The right candidate will be curious about how things work and enjoy finding creative ways to solve challenges and bring marketing efforts to life. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of strategy, creativity, and production and supports skill development in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full funnel marketing campaigns from planning to execution, including strategic development, brief writing, production oversight, go-to-market delivery, and post-campaign reviews
- Partner with operations and creative teams to manage the full lifecycle of in-store activations for select brand-led events, including creative development and timely delivery of materials that uphold brand standards
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, channel partners and outside agencies to translate business needs into campaigns that meet enterprise-wide goals
- Advance work in a fast-paced, matrixed organization, overcoming roadblocks and market challenges to hit milestones
- Translate data and market research into actionable insights
- Own campaigns and milestones; develop presentations and reporting for internal leadership and partners
- Attend shoots and events as needed; some travel may be required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; 3-5 years in marketing, advertising, communications, or content production
- Retail experience strongly preferred (in-house or agency)
- Experience navigating matrixed organizations strongly preferred
- Experience leading integrated campaigns across multiple channels (paid media, digital, social, content, etc.) with strong grasp of the production process, including events
- Highly organized with strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines
- Proven relationship-building skills to connect, inspire, and rally cross-functional partners
- Strong communication, storytelling, and presentation skills
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data, test hypotheses, and optimize campaigns
- Strong ownership, curiosity, and growth mindset; comfortable with ambiguity
- Experience partnering with external agencies and creative vendors
- Passion for pets and the people who love them is a plus
