Job Summary

Position Overview
The Division of Student Affairs is seeking a creative and motivated Student Graphic Designer to support the design needs of our departments, programs, and initiatives. This position offers hands-on experience in branding, marketing, and visual communication while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The Student Graphic Designer will create engaging digital and print materials that promote events, services, and resources to the university community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design graphics for digital platforms (social media, email, web, digital signage) and print materials (posters, flyers, brochures, banners).
  • Collaborate with staff and student leaders to bring ideas to life while aligning with university branding and accessibility guidelines.
  • Develop creative concepts that resonate with a diverse student population.
  • Edit, resize, and update existing designs as needed.
  • Maintain an organized library of design files and templates.
  • Manage multiple projects with varying deadlines.
  • Support special projects and campaigns across the Division of Student Affairs.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours with a cumulative 2.0 GPA or higher.
  • Experience with graphic design software (Adobe Creative Cloud: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign; Canva; or similar tools).
  • Strong creativity, attention to detail, and willingness to collaborate and learn.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage time effectively, and work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Can accept constructive feedback and quick turnaround times.
  • Needs to be adaptable to meet clients' needs.
  • Occasionally available to work weeknights and weekends.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

  • Needs to be able to lift 20 lbs and stand for periods of time, and be able to sit at a computer for most of the shift.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to office and campus events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication trends.
  • Photography or video editing skills are a plus, but not required.
  • Major in Graphic Design.
