Job Description
Central Virginia Community College is located in Lynchburg, Virginia, in view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. CVCC is a comprehensive two-year institution of higher education with an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students in occupational/technical programs and university-parallel/college transfer programs.
The Office of Human Resources is seeking an administrative support professional with strong interpersonal, organizational, and technological skills.
The Administrative and Office Specialist provides administrative support for the Human Resources office and manages the daily workflow of the office. This position will support multiple projects and manage changing priorities. Duties will include providing a friendly, welcoming reception as staff, faculty, students, and administrators enter the Human Resources office, procurement, maintaining files, assisting with new hire onboarding. May also answer general HR questions about benefits, payroll, etc.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support for the Human Resources office and manage the daily workflow of the office.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Knowledgeable of current office practices and Microsoft Office Suite/other software packages such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, Google Suite
- Knowledge of procurement processes and budget management
- Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain working relationships with a diverse population
- Strong organizational and technological skills
