Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Human Resources Manager to lead and direct the routine functions of the HR department. This includes hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. The HR Manager plays a critical role in cultivating a positive workplace culture and aligning HR initiatives with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance with Federal and State guidelines.
- Manage the recruitment and selection process to attract, hire, and retain top talent. Recruits, interviews, pre-qualifies and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
- Process new employee onboarding and conduct new hire orientation.
- Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and retention of human capital.
- Administer compensation and benefits programs. Coordinate and assist in negotiating employee benefits plans.
- Keep records of benefit plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews and terminations.
- Process bi-weekly payroll (HRIS-iSolved). Oversee the Payroll system consisting of payroll operations, Hiring, and Time & Attendance.
- Maintain employee records according to policy and legal requirements.
- Coordinate management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, and safety.
- Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policies.
- Participate in professional development and networking conferences and events.
- Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs.
- Maintain PTO policies such as vacation, sick leave; FMLA compliance.
- Coordinate safety training with Safety Advisor.
- Investigate accidents and prepare reports for worker's compensation insurance carrier.
- Follow through with insurance carrier and doctor's visits and employee issues until Workers' Compensation case is closed.
- Maintain OSHA 300 logs and reporting. Prepare and keep OSHA records and postings to follow Federal laws.
- Represent the organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
- Serve as liaison for IT and administrative contracts.
- Coordinate employee recognition program: awards, anniversary dates, celebrations, etc.
- Advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
- Foster a positive working environment and promote the organization's values.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proven working experience as HR Manager or other HR Executive role.
- People-oriented and results-driven.
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases (e.g., HRIS, payroll software).
- Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills.
- Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
- Professional certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
Working Conditions
