Senior Environmental Engineer or Scientist (Site Remediation)
ERG is seeking a highly motivated Senior Environmental Engineer or Scientist to oversee environmental site assessment and remediation projects for our State and Federal clients across various regulatory programs (e.g., Brownfields, CERCLA, RCRA, and state VRPs). The role involves providing senior-level management, guidance, and review of environmental assessments, investigations, permitting activities, and remediation evaluations. The candidate will help expand our site assessment work.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing medium to large-scale complex projects to meet scope, budget, schedule, and quality expectations.
- Writing and reviewing technical documents, reports, and engineering designs, including Phase I and II ESAs, cleanup analyses, remediation plans, and work plans.
- Reviewing SAPs and QAPPs to ensure efficient sampling for site characterization.
- Interpreting data to evaluate and design remediation systems, including strategy development, rationale, and cost estimates.
- Managing and training junior staff to facilitate growth.
- Assisting with recruitment to expand project teams.
- Collaborating effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental site assessment and remediation.
- Experience with Brownfields, CERCLA, RCRA Corrective Action, and VRPs.
- Proven project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects and subcontractors.
- Knowledge of current and emerging remedial technologies, with PFAS experience preferred.
- Ability to prioritize and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification.
Physical requirements include carrying 25 pounds, climbing ladders, and working on elevated platforms.
ERG offers competitive salaries, benefits, and a dynamic, flexible work environment. The salary range is $125,000 to $160,000 annually, depending on experience.
