Ryan Companies US, Inc. is looking for a dedicated Energy Isolation Specialist to enhance our national safety team. Your Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the main contact for all Energy Isolation activities, empowered to halt any unsafe practices.
Oversee compliance of the Energy Isolation Program, ensuring acceptance criteria align with the client’s campus plans and maintaining ongoing updates throughout the project.
Confirm role assignments and ensure an approval process for Energy Isolation procedures is established.
Conduct audits and inspections to identify and address issues, deficiencies, and best practices within the Energy Isolation Program.
Prepare reports detailing program activities and general statuses, showcasing the effectiveness of the Energy Isolation initiatives.
Perform regular site inspections to ensure adherence to design intent and flag concerns for engineering review.
Enhance the pre-energization process by developing and implementing new procedures.
Review documentation to ensure safe working conditions across all energy isolation activities.
Analyze construction documents for technical compliance and support the mitigation of project risks.
Engage in High-Risk Activity (HRA) planning meetings associated with Energy Isolation.
Ensure all sources of energy are identified and documented throughout the project cycle.
Collaborate with commissioning teams to maintain safety during the testing and validation of MEP systems.
Verify personnel qualifications, training, and PPE adherence concerning energy isolation.
Join daily or weekly meetings with subcontractors and clients to maintain open communication and coordination.
Oversee the verification of LOTO processes, ensuring compliance with standards and effective execution.
Lead efforts to close any identified gaps through assurance audits.
Support the change management process with clarity and guidance on project scopes and technical details.
Work closely with Environmental, Health, and Safety teams to achieve excellence in Hazardous Energy Control.
Foster a culture of safety and compliance within Mission Critical activities.
Act as the Subject Matter Expert in all Energy Isolation incident investigations.
Share best practices in issue and quality management to improve commissioning processes.
Create monthly reports summarizing energized equipment and energy isolation program statuses.
What We Require:
A college/university/professional degree in Electrical, Industrial, Process Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in technical engineering with mission-critical facilities or a bachelor's/master's degree combined with relevant experience.
Expertise in the National Electrical Code.
At least 10 years of experience in multi-disciplinary construction with a focus on mission-critical projects.
Experience managing Hazardous Energy Control in complex infrastructures.
Knowledge of electrical safety standards (NFPA 70E, OSHA) and qualifications of personnel working on energized systems.
Strong background in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, particularly in building electrical systems.
Comfort with building management systems and automation frameworks.
Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively.
Willingness to travel to project locations as needed.
