Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Teleposition with night shifts and a MD or Compact RN license requirement.
Responsibilities Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a hospital setting Primary patient population includes ED boarders Night shifts (7:00pm - 7:30am) with every other weekend required 13-week contract assignment Travelers are first to float within the hospital as needed First-time travelers are welcomed for this assignment Travelers must be comfortable floating to other units within their scope of experience RTO (Requested Time Off) must be submitted at initial consideration and may not exceed 7 days; requests over 4 consecutive days will require contract extension Non-billable modules are required as part of onboarding Return travelers must have been away from the system for at least 6 months; former staff must be gone for 12 months before returning as a traveler Holiday coverage expectations to be confirmed per unit COVID vaccination may be required per facility protocols
Requirements Active MD or Compact RN license required at time of consideration Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg Tele experience required Certifications required: BLS, CPI, and NIHSS (AHA only for BLS) ACLS certification preferred (AHA only) Must provide two satisfactory professional references, one from a recent supervisor/manager and one from a charge RN Locals living under 50 miles from the facility are not eligible
