Description
The COBRA Training Support Coordinator plays a vital role in the Training and Delivery Services program at the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) in Anniston, Alabama. This national training facility equips state and local emergency response personnel to effectively handle various hazards, including terrorist attacks involving weapons of mass destruction. CDP provides comprehensive hands-on and classroom-based training that empowers responders with the critical skills necessary for dealing with Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE) incidents, mass casualties, and hazardous materials emergencies.
Primary Responsibilities
Support course managers, resident instructors, subcontractors, and support staff involved in Resident Training.
Assist in the setup and recovery of training areas for both classroom sessions and live agent environments.
Provide support to instructional staff during donning and doffing of personal protective equipment.
Perform donning and doffing procedures during multi-task operational training.
Prepare and ensure proper fit of personal protective equipment used by responders during live agent training.
Adhere to established regulations and guidance for operation in the COBRATF live agent training environment.
Actively engage in cross-training opportunities to enhance overall training experiences for student responders.
Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Basic Qualifications High school diploma or GED required.
Must be able to lift, push, and pull weights exceeding 50 pounds frequently.
Ability to perform all operational tasks while wearing personal protective equipment.
Must possess adequate physical fitness to fulfill job responsibilities.
Ability to apply accepted hazardous material principles in various life-threatening scenarios.
Effective oral communication skills to facilitate training for personnel.
Competence in operating standard CBRN/HAZMAT equipment.
U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to Federal Contract Regulations.
Possession of an accepted form of government-issued ID in compliance with the Real ID Act.
Must pass a pre-placement screening, including a background check and disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act.
Preferred Qualifications More than 5 years of experience in supporting live toxic agent operations or training.

Pay Range $30,550.00 - $55,225.00
