Job Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements; setting priorities
Prepares construction budget by studying plans, updating specifications, identifying and projecting job costs
Evaluates offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, site requirements
Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials, identifying qualified subcontractors, negotiating price
Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
Maintains quality service by following organization standards
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Qualifications
A 5-year record of success as an estimator in civil, mass excavation, mass grading, utilities, paving, and demolition
Proficient with computer estimating software such as HeavyBid or AGTEK
Providing leadership and establishing estimating protocols for pricing structure development to ensure the accuracy and timely completion of proposals from conceptual estimates through project buy out
Support project teams with scope development, bid requirements, schedule of values, and contractual
Establish protocols and develop methodologies to streamline the estimating process and support the long-term development of the company and the estimating team
Analyzing plans and specifications, locating sub-contractors and suppliers, setting up online plan room for sub-contractors, and writing technical proposals
Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
