Responsibilities
- Answer, place, and transfer local and long-distance calls on a multi-line switchboard
- Greet visitors and provide general information professionally
- Respond to emergency calls on and off campus and monitor safety systems
- Provide relief for other operators and cover during illness or vacations
- Maintain records and assist with administrative tasks as assigned
- Work with individuals, families, and staff in a respectful, collaborative manner
- Attend work regularly and adhere to agency leave policies
Qualifications
- Graduation from standard senior high school or equivalent
- Experience as a switchboard/console operator or receptionist
- Clerical work or data entry experience
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred
- Knowledge of telephone systems, office procedures, and data entry
- Ability to transfer calls to appropriate personnel and greet visitors effectively
Additional Information
- Experience using CISCO Telephone System is preferred
- Applicants must pass fingerprint background checks, pre-employment drug screen, CANRS, Nurse Aide, Medication Aide, and LEIE checks
- Male applicants 18–25 must be registered with Selective Service
- All employees are subject to random drug testing
- Flexibility in work hours; overtime and holiday work may be required; weekends and holidays may be required
