Production Technician Our client is locally owned and operated and has grown into a regional and national industrial equipment supplier. They provide a combination of value-added technical services, engineering, consultation, and quality products to a variety of markets. They provide mission-critical equipment to a wide variety of industries. Summary Assemble and test industrial packages from bare parts, in shop production environment. This includes mechanical connections, support structures, and control panels for custom air compressors, vacuum pumps, blowers, and pump assembly packages. ***Auto mechanics strongly encouraged to apply*** Duties:
- Assemble mechanical assemblies, such as air ends, blowers, and other compressed air system components, working on a shop floor.
- Inspects components for proper assembly, specifications, fit and finish.
- Assembles and positions components according to knowledge of unit being assembled and through interpretation of engineering drawings, layout drawings or electrical schematics.
- Positions components with a forklift, overhead crane or manually and fastens parts together with bolts, screws, rivets, or other fasteners, using hand and portable powered tools.
- Bend and install tubing and fittings for oil lubrication/cooling systems and plumbing.
- Align couplings and sub-assemblies to gearbox or other components.
- Provide feedback regarding design improvements, updates, and procedures, verbally and in writing, as required.
- Work in conjunction with Floor Supervisor to ensure assemblies meet design parameters.
- Perform workstation and shop clean-up duties as assigned.
- Physically able (lifting up to 50lbs)
- Work well in a team as a self-starter
- Excellent communication skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience with mechanical assembly, car mechanics, or electrical.
- Experience with handheld mechanical measurement devices (micrometer, dial indicator, caliper) as well as electrical measurement devices (Fluke meter).
- Experience reading electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Recognize common mechanical and electrical components.
