Overview
The Test Engineer is responsible for test equipment used in manufacturing, including hardware setup and software development, specific to customer requirements for Mack Technologies Florida, Inc. Reports to the Test Engineering Manager. (100% onsite) Responsibilities
Design circuit board layout for new and existing test stations using Altium Designer. Support production with failure analysis, test debugging, reduction of false failures and downtime of test equipment. Lead and drive test improvement including but not limited to: reduction in time, improvements in test coverage and improving automation of test equipment. Participate in the review of capital investments including various pieces of test equipment to improve capabilities and capacity. Participate in quality reviews to aid in reduction of quality escapes through improved test coverage, capability and improved automation. Develop documentation of procedures to be used from the initial test design phase to production. Generate monthly and quarterly reports and analysis of test data and prepare documentation and recommendations for customers. Review test equipment designs, test capacity, data and RMA issues with customers on a regular basis. Direct and coordinate engineering activities concerned with development, procurement, installation and calibration of instruments, equipment, control devices required to test, record and reduce test data. Direct and exercise control over operational, functional and performance phases of tests. Analyze and interpret test data and prepare technical reports for use by Test Engineering and Management personnel. Maintain customer supplied test inventory. Perform routine technique development and maintenance, subject to established Mack Technologies standards, including ISO and AS9100 development standards. Provide training in new procedures to production test operators, debug technicians and the Test Engineering Dept. Comply and follow all procedures within the Company security policy. Other responsibilities as directed and necessary for the business. Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Electronic or Electrical Engineering or equivalent; 5+ years of experience as a Test Engineer in a manufacturing environment; or 10 years in lieu of a degree. Experience with networking hardware and software preferred. Experience with designing test fixtures. Genrad ICT development and debugging experience a plus. Languages: Visual Basic, .NET, C++, C, LabVIEW and Shell Scripting. Applications: MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, Altium Designer, Visual Basic and Master Control. Knowledge and use of an ERP system. Flying probe development and debugging a plus. Understanding of basic electro-mechanical tools (multimeters, calipers, etc.) and basic hand tools (wrench, torque drivers etc.). Ability to interpret detailed drawings, schematics and diagrams. Ability to design creative manufacturing and process solutions that meet both the company and customer goals concurrently. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Must be able to function effectively in a dynamic environment with constant changes in priorities. Must be able to function effectively in a team environment and interact with multiple departments across the Company. Experience with problem solving and troubleshooting skills using solid Six Sigma or Lean Methods. Experience with test process (including equipment and operator) validation methods. Knowledge of ISO9001 Quality System/manufacturing requirements. Willingness to work flexible hours as necessary.
