The WB Finance & Accounting (WFA) Vice Presidency is responsible for financial reporting, internal control framework for IBRD and IDA, and the Trust Fund/Partnership portfolio. It supports fiduciary control, administers disbursements for Bank lending, and leads client service for the WB’s corporate expenses. WFA comprises three departments: (1) Corporate Accounting and Reporting, (2) Trust Funds and Loans, (3) Financial Controls. WFA’s mandate supports internal and external clients with a focus on delivery, optimization, impact, and people & culture. Within WFA, the Structured Finance Division (WFASF) handles product control for financial instruments including borrowings, derivatives, and investments for IBRD, IDA and Trust Funds (excluding pension funds). This includes valuation for bonds, derivatives, and loans, model setup and valuation review, market data sourcing and verification, instrument‑level accounting, policy implementation, independent price verification, data management, and disclosure information for these instruments. The Financial Officer will contribute to the market data and valuation work program of the division. The role involves interaction with counterparts in Finance (WFA, Risk, Treasury, Corporate Finance) and representation in working groups for new initiatives and instruments. How your contributions will help us achieve our goals: What you will do: Review valuation for various financial instruments in the IBRD/IDA portfolios using Murex and Numerix modeling tools. Prepare and quality‑assure calculated market data, evaluate data sources, perform daily market data reliability checks. Analyze sensitivity to market movements using relevant tools and formalize procedures and reporting. Review/prepare market data validation proposals and secure approvals by proposing market data, curve construction methodology, and system configuration used consistently with market practice. Implement models for vanilla and structured products in the Murex system. Compare WB valuations with Counterparty valuations and other sources. Review market data such as interest rates, foreign exchange, equity and credit data; ensure data quality before distribution to downstream systems; periodically review existing model/market-data choices for borrowings and derivative valuation. Participate in projects to enhance/change current applications and operationalize new instruments. Coordinate with stakeholders across the World Bank and with other MDBs/banks. Provide training and direction for less experienced staff. Selection Criteria

What you will bring: Education: Master’s in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, or relevant discipline Professional finance/accounting qualification (CFA, FRM and/or CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent) Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience Professional experience with major financial institutions or a Big 4 accounting firm with practical knowledge of interest rate curve construction, yield and FX volatility surfaces and correlations, and Bond/Swap valuation methods for structured instruments Knowledge and Skills: Expertise in the Murex system; strong understanding of fixed income and debt derivative products, including pricing theory for interest rate and FX options Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with familiarity in financial modeling; strong market data requirements for capital market activities Knowledge of valuation models including calibration instruments Initiative, self-confidence, and a self-starter attitude Diplomacy and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a multi‑cultural, team environment; detail oriented Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including writing validation proposals Proficiency in Python (or other programming languages) is highly desired Abilities: Ability to deliver results and respond quickly to requests Ability to lead systems projects and institutional initiatives Ability to meet tight deadlines Strong communication skills to explain views clearly Ability to work sensitively in a multi‑cultural environment and build effective relationships WBG Culture Attributes
