Overview
Indiana University Health , Indiana's most comprehensive and top-ranked healthcare system, is recruiting a Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon to join our growing team in Fort Wayne, Indiana. We are developing a new healthcare facility and plan to launch in early 2027.
Responsibilities
Cardiovascular Surgery for adult cardiac surgical patients
Inpatient, outpatient and OR coverage
Full-time position
Basic Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have M.D., D.O., or equivalent education
Completed a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship or integrated program
American Board Certified/Board Eligible in Surgery
Open to both new graduates and practicing physicians
Ability to obtain an Indiana medical license
Collaborate and successfully interact with a multi-disciplinary team to promote high-quality patient outcomes
Requires excellent interpersonal skills and clear written and verbal communication skills

About IU Health and Fort Wayne Indiana University Health expanded into the northeast Indiana market in 2018. IU Health operates four primary care clinics, two urgent cares, and a radiology center in the Fort Wayne area. A 40,000-square-foot accredited ambulatory care center opened in 2021, with five operating and five procedure rooms for more than 10 different specialties. Riley Children’s Health also operates a clinic in Fort Wayne, providing access close to home to multiple pediatric subspecialty physicians.
