Role overview : As the Business Development Specialist, you will work with the Transactional Business Development Manager and team on initiatives that support revenue generation, marketing, and visibility for practice and industry groups including Bankruptcy & Financial Restructuring, Corporate, Labor & Employment, Life Sciences, Real Estate, Tax and Technology.
Responsibilities
Support and, where required, lead the planning and execution of firm events including seminars, webinars, client entertainment and receptions, in collaboration with the firm’s Operations and Events department. For firm events, develop targeted invitation lists, track RSVPs, manage attendee engagement and follow-up.
Maintain the firm’s contact management database (InterAction) and perform queries and generate reports as needed.
Coordinate sponsorships and annual memberships to leverage benefits.
Prepare sophisticated, thoughtful, and persuasive pitch materials, including RFP responses and tailored marketing collateral.
In collaboration with the Library, research companies, industries, marketplaces and competitors related to pitches and strategic initiatives; develop insights and communicate recommendations to lawyers.
Gather intelligence on legal industry trends to inform attorneys about the competitive landscape and positioning to win new business.
Contribute to market recognition efforts, including overseeing development of legal directory submissions (Chambers USA, Legal 500, etc.).
Coordinate with Public Relations, Communications, and Digital Marketing teams to identify and promote key deals, matters, client news and practice highlights.
Maintain the firm’s experience and content management database (Foundation) and generate reports as needed.
Assist with marketing communications activities, including website updates and improvements to attorney bios and online profiles (e.g., LinkedIn).
Perform special projects as requested by Clients & Markets leadership.
Demonstrate integrity, high-quality service, and a proactive attitude in written and verbal communications with internal teams and external clients and vendors.
Required Skills / What You Will Bring

Education & Experience
BA/BS required.
Three to five or more years of experience in a legal environment or professional services marketing and business development role preferred.
