Responsibilities
Analyze daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial documents for accuracy and completion before sharing with department managers and leadership
Review and approve proposed advertising campaigns and programs to increase sale and brand visibility for the car dealership
Hire, train, and supervise direct service managers, office managers, and sales managers providing ways to increase profits goals
Ensure that all staff adhere to local, state, and federal mandates for the auto sales industry
Oversee daily operations, remedy customer complaints promptly, and ensure customer satisfaction metrics are met
Production management involving, but not limited to:
Maintaining a pulse on WIP (work in progress)
Monitoring work schedule to make sure we have a constant stream of work to keep the shop busy
Coordinating between departments to make sure the team is involved with the same plan, creating "hot sheets" or daily responsibilities for each department, including parts, QC, body, paint, detail & mechanical
Meet sales goal along with other cycle & customer service goals
Running interference where needed with customers, insurance companies & other vendors
Write accurate estimates to ensure our GP on parts & labor are above 60% in labor & 33% on parts
Review monthly P&L statements with regional management to make sure the shop maintains profitability, creating a rotational Saturday schedule for front office coverage
Setting clear expectations & goals for each department with feedback & coaching when not met
Qualifications
Three or more years of experience in a sales manager or general manager position for a dealership or auto group is necessary
Possess a state-issued driver’s license and acceptable driving record to operate dealership-owned vehicles
Understanding of the auto industry and its trends
High school diploma is mandatory; a bachelor’s degree is preferred
The ability to interpret P&L statements, leadership experience, and excellent communications skills are needed
