Overview
You will serve as an INTERDISCIPLINARY ARCHITECTURAL HISTORIAN/HISTORIC ARCHITECT in the Environmental Business Line (EV) of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG SYSTEMS COMMAND PAC. Architectural Historian (0170) – Salary Range for GS-12: $92,520.00 – $120,282.00. Historic Architect (0808) – Salary Range for GS-12: $95,044.00 – $122,806.00. Duties
You will conduct section 106 consultation of the National Historic Preservation Act and prepare Section 106 agreement documents. You will prepare documents related to historic preservation including management plans, survey reports, treatment recommendations, statements of work and interpretive plans. You will serve as a subject matter expert in historic preservation and cultural resources management: conduct surveys, evaluations and supporting studies for National Register nominations. You will work collaboratively, as appropriate, with environmental staff members, contractors, and customers to identify historic property and cultural resources requirements, evaluate risks, and complete products and services. You will support NEPA analyses through preparation and review of NEPA documents, participation in public meetings, and provide related support for NHPA Section 106 consultations. Requirements
Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Time-in-grade requirements apply as described in the announcement. Selective Service registration for males born after 12-31-59. This is a bargaining unit position. Must obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license. Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Training and government credit card requirements for travel. Occasional travel away from the normal duty station; overnight travel may be required. Annual Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE Form 450) is required. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service, or equivalent experience. Specialized experience must demonstrate: 1) Conduct section 106 consultation of the National Historic Preservation Act and prepare Section 106 agreement documents; 2) Prepare documents related to historic preservation including management plans, survey reports, treatment recommendations, statements of work and interpretive plans; 3) Serve as a subject matter expert in historic preservation and cultural resources management: conduct surveys, evaluations and supporting studies for National Register nominations.
