INTERDISCIPLINARY COMMUNITY PLANNER/ARCHITECT with Security Clearance Newport News, VA Responsibilities

Proficient in information technology such as Geospatial Information Systems (GIS), eProjects, Electronic Project Generator (EPG), and Internet Navy Facilities Assets Data Store (iNFADS) to formulate a facilities requirement plan. Conduct technical reviews of facilities planning products (e.g., Basic Facilities Requirements [BFRs]) to determine if objectives are met. Implement planning criteria when managing projects (e.g., Master Plans, Special Planning Studies, Basic Facilities Requirements, Facility Planning Documents, or similar components) to meet requirements. Interpret community planning or real estate guidelines (laws, regulations, and policies) to solve specific problems in facilities planning. Make recommendations to decision-makers based on sound economic analysis. Lead multi-disciplined teams involved with base and asset development. Requirements and Conditions of Employment

Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. May require travel away from the normal duty station to CONUS/OCONUS and to remote or isolated sites; ability to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods. In addition to the Basic Requirements, demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to GS-11 or pay band level, in federal service or equivalent private/public sector experience. Specialized experience must include: Leading and participating in cross-functional working groups with multiple stakeholders across planning, real property, design, environmental, construction, contracting, and financial management to support key customers. Preparing project documentation, basic requirements for site approval, and documentation for moderate to complex projects for review. Conducting Asset Evaluations on facilities for single user/use facilities and structures. Assisting in land use planning and site evaluations. Using automated systems and software (e.g., Navy Shore Facility Planning System, PAX, iNFADS) to produce facility or community planning projects, products, and services. Education

Applicants must possess one of the following, or a combination meeting the Office of Personnel Management standards: 0020 Community Planner series or 0808 Architecture series with the specified educational requirements.
