Contract Details: Type: Contract Duration: ~3 months Extension Possible: Yes Conversion Possible: Yes (if headcount opens) Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM Job Summary We are seeking a Building Engineer to join a high-rise multi-use commercial site in Center City, Philadelphia. You'll be responsible for day-to-day maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and safety systems, as well as supporting general building operations. This is a hands-on role suited for jack-of-all-trades professionals with strong problem-solving skills and building systems experience. Key Responsibilities Perform daily maintenance across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems Maintain and troubleshoot fire alarm systems and basic HVAC equipment Complete light carpentry tasks, bulb/fixture changes, and general repairs Assist in managing energy efficiency programs Conduct inspections of HVAC, plumbing, and fire systems Comply with safety and regulatory standards Contribute to and maintain a clean, safe work environment Help implement preventive maintenance programs Provide mentorship and support for junior team members Interface with hotel, retail, and office tenants as needed Required Experience 45 years of building/facility engineering experience High school diploma or equivalent required Strong working knowledge of fire alarms, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing Familiarity with Class A office properties, particularly in Center City Nice-to-Have Experience Philadelphia Class A license (preferred, not required) Building automation systems experience Water source heat pump systems Prior experience with work order systems Required Skills Ability to lift 50+ lbs and climb ladders/stairs Proficiency with basic computer tools and Microsoft Office Knowledge of safety practices and hazardous material handling Sound math, organizational, and communication skills Team-player mindset with attention to detail and strong judgment Preferred Skills Supervisory or shift-lead experience Universal CFC certification Benefits Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans 401k Retirement Fund About the Client Leading global commercial real estate services and investments.
