We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary
Assessment Strategist
to join our team and lead strategic engagement efforts with some of the largest school districts in the country. This role blends deep expertise in educational assessment with thought leadership, public speaking, and content creation to drive impact and innovation across the K–12 landscape. Responsibilities
District Consultation: Serve as a trusted advisor to large school districts, providing expert guidance on assessment strategy, implementation, and data-driven decision-making. Thought Leadership: Represent the organization at national and regional conferences, webinars, and panels. Deliver compelling presentations and contribute to industry dialogue. Content Development: Author blogs, white papers, and other thought leadership pieces that reflect current trends, challenges, and innovations in educational assessment. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with sales, customer success, and product teams to ensure alignment between district needs and organizational offerings. Strategic Influence: Help shape the future of assessment by identifying emerging needs and contributing to product and service development. Relationship Building: Cultivate long-term partnerships with district leaders, positioning the organization as a leader in assessment solutions. Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree (M.Ed.) required; Doctorate (Ed.D. or Ph.D.) strongly preferred. Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in educational assessment, either in ed-tech sales or as a senior leader within a school district. Proven track record of working with large districts and navigating complex organizational structures. Skills: Exceptional communication and presentation skills. Strong writing ability for professional and public-facing content. Strategic thinking and ability to influence at the executive level. Deep understanding of assessment tools, data interpretation, and instructional impact. Preferred Qualifications
Experience presenting at major education conferences (e.g., AASA, ASCD, ISTE). Published work in education journals, blogs, or other media. Familiarity with ed-tech platforms and digital assessment tools. Compensation
Pay range: $100,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr. Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location.
