We are seeking an experienced hands‑on and visionary Manager of Developer and Infrastructure Platform to lead our internal developer platform team. This role shapes an end‑to‑end developer experience, from initial service development through production deployment. The ideal candidate will manage both the developer platform and application infrastructure, ensuring they are architected for reliability, scalability, and high performance. The role requires collaboration with senior leadership on strategic thinking, technical expertise, and strong leadership to foster a supportive, high‑performing team culture. Lead a team of 6–8 software engineers to achieve measurable improvements in technical excellence and system stability, aiming for a 20% reduction in downtime and a 15% increase in code quality metrics. Allocate 40% of your time to engineering tasks (code reviews, architectural design, prototyping, troubleshooting) to enable a 25% faster resolution of critical issues. Deliver new and support existing end‑to‑end platform services and increase feature deployment frequency. Guide rapid experimentation to increase quick prototypes for new ideas. Collaborate with architects, product managers, and other engineering managers to deliver capabilities that improve customer satisfaction scores. Develop and manage processes that enable the team to perform at their best and increase productivity. Partner with Talent Acquisition to hire engineers and contractors, fulfilling staffing needs within the planned timeline. Maintain high standards for operational excellence and engineering rigor. Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 7+ years of experience in software development or infrastructure management, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or managerial role. Proven experience in software development and infrastructure management with a focus on developer tools and platforms. Hands‑on expertise with cloud platforms, especially AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.). Experience managing and growing engineering teams, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Proactive in developing strategies for business growth and technology innovation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross‑functional teams. Experience with developer productivity tools, developer experience design, or internal platform development. Nice‑to‑have: Track record of delivering projects in a timely fashion in a fast‑paced, lean, and collaborative environment. Compensation and benefits

The salary ranges vary by location and experience. For San Jose, the pay range is $191,700–$230,000 USD; for Draper, UT, the pay range is $162,900–$195,500 USD. Both locations are eligible for BILL’s bonus and equity plan and a competitive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) with employer match, flexible spending and health savings accounts, paid holidays, paid time off, and additional company benefits.
