Overview Payment Operations Analyst

Pay rate: $20-25/hr - Depending on Education and Experience
Shift: Day Shift - 40 hours per week
Summary : You are passionate about delivering on-time, at-cost, and low-risk payment operations. You excel at consistently exceeding customers’ expectations and seek a lead role in managing enterprise-level day-to-day accounts payable activities within Invoice to Payment (I2P) and Time & Expense (T&E) workflows. You are curious, build strong coalitions, possess financial acumen, and demonstrate ownership, integrity, and attention to detail. You are an independent self-starter who connects people and ideas to data and outcomes with an entrepreneurial drive. You communicate well and are comfortable in a highly visible organization, accountable for results.
Key Requirements
5 years of related experience or BA/BS and 2 years of relevant experience or relevant MBA/MS
Familiarity with foreign currency transactions and ACH / Bank Wire regulations
Demonstrated expertise of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Experience with data warehousing, data analytics, and reporting tools (e.g., Cognos, SQL, R, Python, Tableau, Power BI)
Workday knowledge preferred
Responsibilities
Manage timing of vendor payments consistent with vendor agreements, policy, and budget
Process all non-Payroll payment requests
Coordinate PO and invoice payment issues with business partners; identify training gaps
Communicate and enforce P2P policy
Oversee centralized billing and upload process for preferred suppliers
Support onboarding, maintenance, and offboarding for vendor partners
Manage B2B portals and Amex BIP program
Research and address supplier onboarding issues
Support year-end and payment accrual processes
Communicate results and recommendations to Deans, Directors, and financial administrators
Refer significant problems to Internal Audit as needed
Gather, analyze data and process reports (approximately 90%)
Review issues and provide data/analysis during committee reviews
Skills and Qualifications
5 years of related experience or BA/BS and 2 years of relevant experience or relevant MBA/MS
Demonstrated leadership within Invoice to Payment and T&E workflows
Ability to use disbursement data and trusted-advisor relationships to improve efficiency
Familiarity with government and state/local payment/disbursement regulations and best practices
Experience leading payment/disbursement operations in high-volume, high-risk environments
Globally minded, self-motivated, flexible leader who can prioritize and multi-task across a decentralized organization
Strong leadership presence with data-driven decision-making and customer-focused relationships
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to influence and drive accountability
