Overview
ROCK CLIMBING · HIGH ROPES COURSE ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES HEAD INSTRUCTOR SUMMER SEASON: June 22 through August 22. Part Season (4 weeks) Employment Opportunities are also available. Internships Available. PRE and POST CAMP WORK AVAILABLE. Pre-Camp Option: May 1–June 22. Post-Camp Option: August 29 – Sept. 30+. Additional employment before and after the summer camp season. Year-round internship opportunities may be available. Benefits packages are among the best in the industry. Camp Lohikan is a coed resident summer camp located in northeast Pennsylvania. Our campers range in age from 6 to 15. We operate 65+ arts, sports, and adventure activities daily, with extensive facilities located in the Pocono Mountains. Responsibilities
Supervise and lead rock climbing, high ropes, low ropes, and survival program activities. Instruct climbing tower/rock climbing site and high & low ropes course operations. Assist with program development and leadership roles as assigned (Program Director, Camp Supervisor, Senior Staff as applicable). Support pre- and post-camp staffing and year-round internship programs as available. Ensure safety, integrity, and positive role modeling for campers and staff. Qualifications
Adventure Program Director must hold appropriate certification and have experience managing ropes courses and rock climbing programs. Staff instructors must have strong skills and prior teaching experience; all instructors will be retrained and certified before the summer. Instructors for survival programs must have strong outdoor skills; certification may be required depending on the specialty. High moral character, strong work ethic, and ability to work with children; experience with children is preferred but not always required. Non-smoking camp policy (no vaping) and adherence to camp policies regarding alcohol, smoking, vaping, curfews, etc. Extensive activity experience and demonstrated expertise are preferred; training will be provided as needed. Pre-offer and post-offer screening processes include reference checks, background checks, fingerprinting, and other required checks. Employment Benefits
