The Colorado Supreme Court’s Office of Attorney Registration and Continuing Legal and Judicial Education seeks applications for the position of Deputy Director. Overview

The Deputy Director is the second-in-command of the Office of Attorney Registration and Continuing Legal and Judicial Education ("CLE") in the regulation of attorneys and Licensed Legal Paraprofessionals ("LLPs") admitted to practice law in the State of Colorado and is an integral part of the overall leadership and administration of the operations of the Office. The Deputy Director becomes fully knowledgeable about every aspect of annual registration and CLE compliance of attorneys and LLPs as well as accreditation of CLE activities, and develops the management, interpersonal and technical skills necessary to oversee the work of others on this team. The Deputy Director gains a strong understanding of database functionality. The Deputy Director thrives on being an analytical thinker, detail-oriented, consistently busy, effective at managing multiple priorities through disruptions, is comfortable with handling high levels of financial transactions, and a problem-solver. The Deputy Director is expected to become competent in the essential functions of the position within 12 months of starting the position. Responsibilities

The Deputy Director is the second-in-command of the Office and is an integral part of the leadership and administration of the Office’s operations, and oversees the work of others on the team. Become fully knowledgeable about every aspect of annual registration and CLE compliance of attorneys and LLPs as well as accreditation of CLE activities. Develop the management, interpersonal and technical skills necessary to oversee the work of others on the team. Gain a strong understanding of database functionality. Maintain an analytical, detail-oriented approach, manage multiple priorities through disruptions, and handle high levels of financial transactions; serve as a problem-solver. Become competent in the essential functions of the position within 12 months of starting the position. Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree, Juris Doctorate, or specialized paralegal or compliance certifications are strongly preferred and considered a significant advantage. Fifteen years of professional, administrative, supervisory, or management experience is required. A strong administrative background, preferably in a regulatory field. A minimum of three years of demonstrated executive-level leadership is preferred. Excellent organizational skills including accuracy and attention to detail. Effective written and oral communication skills with public speaking experience. A demonstrated and verifiable reputation for integrity.
