Virginia Veterinary Centers – Midlothian is excited to offer an opportunity for an Emergency Veterinarian to become a foundational member of our growing team as Medical Director. We are building a dedicated and collaborative ER from the ground up, shaped by the voices and expertise of our team members. This role has a direct impact on developing our ER program and creating a practice environment aligned with your vision and professional goals. We have strong relationships with our sister locations in Short Pump and Fredericksburg, along with dedicated Internal Medicine and Urgent Care services, providing guidance, mentorship, and specialized support. Our leadership comprises long‑standing veterinary professionals who foster a collaborative and growth‑oriented environment. We offer a peaceful environment for building a close‑knit team with the support network of other locations and the opportunity to influence the growth and culture of our ER.

What We’re Looking For

We seek a highly skilled, experienced, and motivated individual to join and lead our team as Medical Director, in partnership with the Hospital Director, Director of Hospital Operations, Ethos Veterinary Health’s Medical and Field Leadership, and Support Center teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Leadership and Guidance : Ability to lead and guide a veterinary team and ensure exceptional medical care. Positive Work Environment : Commitment to fostering a positive, professional, and supportive work atmosphere. Medical Expertise : In‑depth knowledge of veterinary emergency medicine and ongoing engagement with current advancements. Protocol Development : Experience in overseeing medical protocol and procedure development and implementation. Collaborative Spirit : Strong collaboration to work with the hospital director to drive operational excellence and goals. Commitment to Education : Dedication to developing and participating in Emergency Veterinarian mentorship programs. Regulatory Compliance : Ability to ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards.

Additional Focus : Leadership opportunities to shape the medical direction of the hospital, mentor the team, and lead innovative projects to advance veterinary care.

This role is typically approximately 75% clinical and 25% administrative.
