As the Senior Manager of Safety Data Management, you play a critical role in ensuring safety is at the core of everything we do at United. Our team is integral for ensuring a safe workplace for our employees and travel experience for our customers. This role is responsible for developing and implementing a cohesive safety data strategy and supporting the Director of SMS in growing United's Safety Data Management programs. This includes establishing metrics around safety data streams through thorough analysis and communication with the objective of reducing safety risk, and improving our safety culture. This position will lead a team of data managers responsible for executing safety data strategy, maintaining data integrity on safety data inputs, as well as enhancing data analytics, communication and reporting. This position will work closely with the Digital Technology team on safety database and data analytics improvements. This role requires an individual with excellent analytical abilities and strong business acumen. While leading a high-performing team, this role requires someone capable of being strategic, collaborative, and hands-on with safety data. Develop and implement a strategy for Safety Data Management and streamlining processes including data integrity, analytics, reporting, solutions, and communications Lead a team of Data Managers to maintain safety data integrity, comprehensive analytics, reporting, communication, and improvement opportunities to mitigate safety risks across the organization Collaborate with operational division to analyze data to predict and reduce safety risks and provide measurable solutions Partner with Digital Technology team to enhance safety management databases and develop streamlined and comprehensive data analytics workstreams Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): Bachelor’s degree (Business/Information Technology, Physics, Predictive Analytics, Statistics or Engineering Field) or related field required 3-4 years working with complex data (data analytics, information science, data visualization, or other relevant quantitative field) 3 years of experience in a leadership role Statistical Analysis, Programming experience SAS, R, VBA, SQL required Must have excellent analytical aptitude including proven ability to develop integrated data strategy Highly collaborative with the ability to work efficiently with cross-functional teams Ability to prepare presentations for senior leadership and interact with all levels of management Strong business Acumen and ability to influence others to execute vision Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications): Masters preferred Data Analyst Certification The base pay range for this role is $124,735.00 to $162,388.00. The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
