Overview

Accounting Manager - Norfolk, VA. This is a full-time, permanent Accounting Manager opportunity. Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Manager will oversee a team of 2-4, maintaining responsibility for daily accounting activities, including inventory related reports and job cost accounting. The Accounting Manager will provide support for month-end close and work closely with the Controller to complete financial reporting. This role will be in office 5 days/week in Norfolk, VA. We are seeking an Accounting Manager who has the capacity and desire for continued career growth. Solid experience with job cost accounting, inventory related accounting operations, G/L and GAAP knowledge is necessary, as is the ability to manage people, analyze data and develop reports. Skilled use of MS Excel, QuickBooks and/or Deltek CostPoint is ideal.

Base pay

$110,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train and mentor a small team responsible for accounting operations
• Review journal entries, analyze GL accounts and reconciliations
• Manage A/R and A/P processes
• Execute inventory related and job cost accounting
• Support the preparation of balance sheet and income statement reports
• Support system improvement projects, including ERP upgrades and implementation

Qualifications & requirements

• Bachelors in Accounting or related field
• 3+ years of experience including experience in a leadership or supervisory role
• Strong MS Office Suites and Excel experience
• Self-motivated with high attention to detail and a results-oriented work style
