As Manager of Walk to End Alzheimer’s, you join an exclusive team of leaders responsible for the implementation of Walk to End Alzheimer’s, the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Walk to End Alzheimer’s ranks as the second-largest peer-to-peer fundraising event in the United States and remains one of the fastest-growing walk events in the country. In 2023, Walk to End Alzheimer’s was recognized as the #2 peer-to-peer fundraising event in the country, with the largest dollar growth of any program in the top 30.
And you would be joining the #1 revenue-generating walk in the country! Utilizing your proven networking and relationship-building skills to cultivate key community connections, you will drive success and achieve revenue goals by strategically identifying and engaging community and corporate leaders and building and empowering sustainable volunteer committees in Silicon Valley. As a successful fundraising leader who will manage the largest Walk to End Alzheimer’s event in the nation, you will generate excitement and enthusiasm in the community, coach and inspire your volunteers to implement and build on proven strategies and best practices that result in event growth year over year. This role is right for you if: Responsibilities
You will cultivate key community and corporate relationships to contribute to event revenue goals, greater participation and brand awareness You will work with companies to expand initiatives and secure sponsorships, teams, participants, Champions, and volunteers, and create/manage vendor and cause marketing activation campaigns You will aim to generate ROI and increased fundraising revenue with goals to renew and/or grow larger accounts and multi-year funding With the Senior Director, you will identify members for Executive Leadership Committees and Chair/Vice-Chair positions You will recruit, manage, and coach volunteers to implement best practices to achieve fundraising goals or leverage training to recruit, manage and coach volunteers You will manage multiple volunteer-led mass-market events simultaneously with revenue growth year over year You will foster a positive, healthy, and inclusive team environment with long-term community relationships You will pursue challenges to meet or exceed revenue and participant goals through team and individual fundraising, corporate solicitation, and community partnerships You will prospect, cultivate and steward event teams, sponsors and participants You will use strong communication and organizational skills to manage event budgets, train volunteers, and work with timelines and data to drive outcomes Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 3-5 years of proven experience in recruiting and mobilizing volunteers to achieve goals OR 3-5 years successful experience of meeting sales targets Confident, goal-oriented, positive self-starter, able to work independently with limited supervision and collaboratively with internal and external partners Demonstrated ability to develop and nurture corporate relationships and partnerships Ability to manage large numbers of volunteers at different levels of expertise with diplomacy Ability to work with diverse communities and demonstrate inclusion, in a highly matrixed organization Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication and follow-through Ability and willingness to travel up to 60% within the assigned territory by car; travel may include same-day, overnight, or air travel as required; valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, good driving record and proof of automobile insurance Ability and willingness to work some evenings and weekends for committee meetings, Walk and wraparound events Ability to bend, stoop, lift and transport up to 25 lbs of materials Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office and social media; experience with, or ability to rapidly learn Luminate/Convio software Job Details
Job Title: Manager, Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Silicon Valley Location: San Jose, CA Status: Full-time Exempt, based on 37.5 hours per week minimum Position Grade & Compensation: Grade 405: The Alzheimer’s Association’s good faith expectation for the salary range for this role is between $75,000 to $85,000 annual salary. There is a performance-based incentive opportunity of up to $13,000, depending on portfolio size and achievement of quarterly goals.
