Summary

Disney's Android team is seeking an experienced Software Engineer who is excited to build apps enjoyed by millions around the world. You will be building scalable, elegant solutions for the Disney+ Android application across a wide array of devices including phones, tablets, and TVs. Our highly collaborative group works in tandem with many cross-functional teams. We value pristine communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as a bias for action. We are invested in maintaining high code quality standards with unit tests, automated tests, modern libraries, and a Kotlin codebase. Responsibilities

As a Senior Android Engineer at Disney, you are confident in your knowledge of the Android ecosystem. You are a passionate team member who is well-versed in core technologies such as Kotlin, RxJava2, Coroutines, Dagger2, Gradle, Fragments, and the Android Lifecycle. You demonstrate engineering excellence by developing performant solutions accompanied by quality documentation and tests. You contribute to architectural decisions that provide scalability and flexibility for the future. You have excellent communication skills, enabling you to collaborate with other engineers and teams professionally and efficiently. You have a desire to mentor other team members to help them grow. Basic Qualifications

5+ years of production experience with Kotlin and the Android SDK Bachelor’s degree or better in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent job experience Proficiency with Reactive Programming and Dependency Injection Well-versed in different architectural patterns (MVI/MVVM or equivalent) Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams Ability to write high-quality code, tests, and documentation Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Android libraries such as Dagger 2 / Hilt, RxJava2, Groupie Deep understanding of Android SDK aspects such as Activity/Fragment lifecycles, thread management, custom views, and animations Experience with performance evaluation tools (e.g., Android Profiler) Experience maintaining a large modularized codebase Familiarity with Android TV / Amazon Fire TV development Experience with streaming video, codecs, and DRM Experience with Kotlin, Java, Android SDK, Dependency Injection, Gradle, Databases, Reactive paradigms, Coroutines, Jetpack Compose #DISNEYTECH Salary and Benefits:

The hiring range for this position in Seattle and New York is $145,400 to $195,000 per year and in San Francisco is $152,100 to $203,900 per year. The base pay offered will reflect internal equity and may vary by geographic region, knowledge, skills, and experience.
