Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York — plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practice's locations, including The Heart Center, a leading provider of cardiology care, and two urgent care offices.
Summary: Educates, trains and mentors members in the ENDO specialty area. Collaborates with Endoscopy leadership to develop, facilitate and integrate delivery of best practices and evidence-based knowledge for the service(s).
Required:
State of CT RN license.
Two years of Endo experience.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or current enrollment in a BSN program and a minimum of 3 years job related experience. Desired: Supervisory/charge experience preferred. CGRN preferred Work Type: Full-Time. 40 hours per week Shift: variable start 6:30am, 7:00am or 8:00am - Monday through Friday
Responsibilities:
Collaborates with physicians to promote specialty development, cost effective care, and overall service growth plans. Identifies, plans, assists in the implementation and evaluation of performance improvement strategies. (5%) Communicates with scheduling, materials management and ENDO leadership to determine needs for scheduled procedures. Manages supply costs, manages equipment and standardizes to control inventory. Assesses specialty needs for capital budget. (20%) Supervises and advises the work of others to provide direction on the care to Endoscopy and Pulmonary patients w/attention to the (specialty) patient population by educating team members, providing input into performance evaluations, disciplinary action and participating in hiring process of team members. (15%) Accountable for the daily coordination of patient flow and care delivery, critical thinking and delegating appropriate work to improve the specialty care. (15%) Serves as a subject matter expert for the interpretation and implementation of policies, procedures, practice and regulatory standards related to promoting a culture of safety and a healing environment for patients, staff, and visitors. (10%) Acting as a Care Delivery clinical resource, maintains and demonstrates an appropriate degree of expertise and proficiency utilizing independent judgement for managing and solving problems related to the specialty service line. (5%) Assist in the training and orientation of new staff, providing guidance on procedures and department protocols 5% Maintains accurate records of procedures, patient outcomes and departmental statistics for reporting and analysis 10% Develop and provide patient educational materials and resources for patients regarding endoscopic procedures and what to expect before, during and after the visit 5% Supervisors and coordinates the scheduling of nursing and technical staff 10% Maintains and models the organization�s values. Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance. Performs other duties as required.
