Non-exempt; part-time; 20 hours per week; varied hours between 4:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.; no-benefits; grant-funded This position is responsible for cleaning Transit Services fleet vehicles and other property and equipment, including passenger shelters and bus stops, and may be assigned additional fleet support duties** as appropriate. Supervision is received from the Operations Supervisor. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Clean, wash and wax fleet vehicles (interior and exterior) and assure that vehicles are kept clean per Transit standards Maintain written report of vehicle washes and detailing Clean passenger shelters, remove trash and graffiti, and perform minor maintenance and upkeep Responsible for the operation, daily/weekly/quarterly maintenance, cleaning and upkeep of the bus wash system and facility Conduct periodic inventory of the bus supplies and onboard equipment, schedules, rider bulletins, internal and external commercial ads, etc. Maintain an accountability of all cleaning and petroleum byproduct supplies and requisitions Compile and prepare daily and periodic written reports (e.g. daily vehicle and bus wash system maintenance, wash system and vehicle supply, etc.) Perform non-mechanical vehicle maintenance, such as filling fluids, replacing headlamps, etc. Assist with vehicle pre-trip and driver pullout according to schedule; write-up defects and submit reports Assist with pulling fare boxes Assist with bus stop sign inventory, installation and maintenance Move, transport, and test drive fleet vehicles Perform other related duties as required To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Possession of a valid Maryland class B Commercial Driver's License with airbrake endorsement KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES :
Ability to maintain County Authorized Driver privileges Effective spoken and written (English) communication skills, including the ability to accurately complete forms and reports, install signs and notices, etc. Knowledge of potential safety hazards associated with basic automotive service, and ability to employ appropriate safety precautions Ability and willingness to learn to operate all fleet vehicles Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the general public Ability to use hand tools, power tools and electrical equipment to wash vehicles and perform minor maintenance functions PREFERENCE MAY BE GIVEN FOR :
Related work experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS:
While in this position, the employee is required to constantly walk, push up to and over 40 pounds, pull up to and over 40 pounds, and reach; Frequently stoop, perform repetitive motions, and drive; Occasionally sitting, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds. While in this position, the employee is required to constantly work outdoors; Frequently in dirty, dusty, work in confined spaces, and noisy environments; Occasionally in indoors, on uneven ground, in hot (over 100 degrees), in cold (under 32 degrees), with chemicals or fumes, potentially exposed to infectious diseases, and required to wear protective equipment. The grant that funds this position will determine the duration of the position Must satisfy all Department of Transportation requirements as they apply to periodic physical examinations and licensing standards This position is subject to post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return to duty and random drug and alcohol testing EXAMINATION PROCESS (may include):
