Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO)

who will be responsible for leading all site safety activities and ensuring that a safe work environment is maintained at all times. This position serves as the on-site Safety Representative, working closely with project leadership, subcontractors, and USACE representatives. Preparing, submitting, and maintaining the project’s Accident Prevention Plan (APP), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and other safety documentation. Conducting safety indoctrinations for site visitors and orientations for new employees and subcontractors. Ensuring that all personnel meet required training and that equipment meets OSHA/EPA standards. Performing daily site safety walkthroughs and submitting daily safety reports (attached to the Quality Control Report). Leading weekly toolbox talks for all workers and monthly safety meetings with supervisors. Participating in preparatory and initial quality control meetings for all definable features of work. Investigating incidents, preparing accident reports, and supporting root cause analysis. Coordinating with project leadership to integrate safety into all phases of work. Ensuring continuous SSHO presence on-site Other duties as assigned. Note:

Ten (10) years of SSHO experience on similar construction projects; or a college degree with at least five (5) years of construction industry safety experience to include supervising or managing safety programs, hazard analysis, and controls. Prior SSHO experience on USACE or NAVFAC projects strongly preferred. Completion of the OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Safety Course. Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification Familiarity with Procore, USACE RMS 3.0, and Bluebeam for safety reporting, document control, and plan creation/review EM 385-1-1 40-Hour Training. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – selection, use, and maintenance Additional training and experience preferred: Hazard communication Safety Excavation Scaffolding safety Fall protection Hazardous energy (LOTO) Confined space entry Health hazard recognition, evaluation, and control of chemical, physical, and biological agents Strong communication, documentation, and leadership skills required. Work Authorization/Security Clearance

You must be a US Citizen. You will be required to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance. A valid driver’s license is required. Benefits & Compensation

Salary range: $100,000-$120,000/annual based on experience plus eligible to participate in Short Term Incentive Plan.
