Your Impact:
Pearce Services/ Unified Power is seeking a Critical Power Field Technician (UPS Field Engineer) for Greenville, SC, and surrounding areas. You will support onsite preventive, corrective, and restorative maintenance of customers\' critical power systems (UPS, DC systems, inverters, PDUs, STS, and standalone reserve battery technologies). As a UPS Field Service Engineer for Unified Power, you will bring a hands-on, solution-focused mindset to address customer needs.
Core Responsibilities
- Install electrical equipment such as small rack-mounted UPS equipment, batteries of various sizes, and UPS/Battery monitoring equipment.
- Maintain Battery Cabinets and racks, Maintenance Bypass, Battery Monitoring Equipment, DC Systems, and other electrical equipment.
- Perform remedial services, including failure analysis, troubleshooting, component replacements and repairs, and battery string replacements and installations.
- Build customer relationships through excellent service and upsell opportunities.
- Field troubleshoot calls from customers to a satisfactory resolution.
- Respond quickly to critical situations.
- Teach and mentor crew members on site work, troubleshooting, repair, and analyzing site data.
- Isolate basic hardware, software, and interface malfunctions using test equipment on multiple products and technologies.
- Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.
Core Experience
ATTN: Only applicants with the following experience will be considered. Please ensure your resume clearly details your UPS work experience before applying.
- Prior military training in electronics or avionics (A School, AIT, etc.) preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years in a third-party critical power field service or technical support role with demonstrated progression in technical proficiency (OR) Minimum of five (5) years in an OEM service environment in the critical power space.
- Good understanding of AC/DC electrical principles.
- Knowledge of test equipment operation, such as multi-meters and battery test equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electronics schematics and troubleshoot faults to the component level.
- Experience enforcing compliance with FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations and standards.
- Excellent work ethic, punctuality, reliability, and ability to set the pace as a senior UPS/Critical Power Engineer.
- Good judgment with the ability to make timely, sound decisions in fast-paced environments.
Physical/Work Environment
- Safety first: comply with OSHA and applicable DOT standards.
- Must have a valid driver\'s license with acceptable driving record (if driving a company vehicle) and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds for short durations.
- Ability to kneel, crouch, stand for extended periods.
- Ability to travel for multiple days with per diem as projects require.
- Coordinate multiple tasks with 100% safety awareness.
- Lifting heavy objects and reaching above shoulder level.

Pay and Benefits Transparency
We are committed to fair and transparent pay practices. Actual compensation depends on factors including skill, experience, and location. In addition to wages, employees may be eligible for performance and referral bonuses, per diem, company vehicle, and other compensation. Full-time employees receive a comprehensive benefits package including health and life insurance, 401(k) with employer match, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and professional development courses. Base Pay Range: $35 — $45 USD.
