About the College/Unit/Department
Part of the Division of Student Affairs, University Housing consists of nearly 2.8 million square feet of facilities and is home to more than 9,000 students. The department employs 220 full-time staff members, 21 graduate assistants and 565 undergraduate student workers. As a self-supporting auxiliary, University Housing operates a $59 million budget derived only from student housing fees and other non-state sources. The mission focuses on providing comfortable, affordable and secure housing options where academic success and personal growth are encouraged and supported, with competency-based training and student development opportunities.

Additional Schedule Information
Office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. The preferred hours/times for this position include Monday 8am – 5pm; Wednesday 8am-5pm; Friday 9am-1pm. Applicants can customize hours to work around class schedule but must not exceed 20 hours per week.

- Must be enrolled on at least a half-time basis at the University of Georgia when classes are in session (i.e., enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours for undergraduate and professional students during fall/spring semesters; enrolled in a minimum of five credit hours for graduate students during fall/spring semesters). Credit hour minimums during the summer terms and during the last semester before graduation may be different. Consult the University Housing Human Resources office for additional information.
- Must be in good standing with the Office of Student Conduct and University Housing. Good standing is defined as not being found responsible for policy violations that would interfere with the ability to perform tasks typically assigned to student employees. Additionally, good standing means that the student employee has participated in the student conduct process if charged with any violations and completed any sanctions that may be assigned by the prescribed deadline.
- May not exceed 20 hours of work per week across all student staff positions if positions are held in multiple departments, except when classes are not in session and the student employee has prior permission from the supervisor. This includes online training, staff meetings and one-on-ones.
- May not exceed 6 consecutive hours of work per shift.
Student employees are considered temporary employees. A temporary employee may be separated at any time for any reason without notice and either the employer or the employee can end the employment relationship.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Develop an extensive knowledge of maintenance related tasks and delegate these tasks to the right staff member in an appropriate, timely manner.
- Have a solid understanding of the housing campus layout and property numbers.
- Assist with administrative duties and create training material for Residential Program Services facilities staff.
- Escort contractors and outside vendors to specific work areas. Assist work control manager and work control assistant with key control for contractors and vendors needing access to our buildings.
- Create work orders in AIM.
- Clean, wash and maintain UGA vehicles and LSVs.
- Other duties as needed.

Position Summary
The Housing Department Facilities Office Assistant helps on-campus residents maintain the highest quality of life in their living space by expediting maintenance and building services work requests to get them resolved as quickly as possible.
