Judge Direct Placement is hiring: Manufacturing Engineer in Statesville

About the Role

Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for driving process improvements and supporting fabrication and welding operations within the Metal Plant. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency through lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

They are in need of someone willing to be hands-on, working in the plants and have a good understanding of Lean and even have led a Lean project in the past.

Possible small relocation package within 2-3 hours of plant

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement process improvements using lean tools (Kaizen, 5 Whys, PFMEA, Pareto analysis, etc.)
• Support fabrication and welding operations with technical expertise and problem-solving
• Research and introduce innovative manufacturing technologies and capital equipment
• Collaborate with Design Engineering to improve manufacturability of new products
• Conduct ergonomic and safety evaluations of workstations and production cells
• Train production staff on new processes and improvements
• Facilitate and sustain Kaizen events and track key performance metrics
• Assist in resolving daily production issues and support strategic business projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or related field)
• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in metal fabrication
• Proficiency in CAD, Microsoft Excel, and data analysis tools
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
