Location: Raymond High School, Raymond, NH

Job Goal

To provide a clean, safe, and comfortable learning environment for all students and staff

Reports To

Head Custodian and Facilities Director

Responsibilities

• General: Clean all classrooms, corridors, storerooms, work rooms, offices, teachers’ lounge, kitchen, cafeteria, toilet rooms daily, including sweeping, dry mopping, vacuuming and trash removal
• Maintain tile floors as required (stripping, sealing, finishing, washing, buffing, and recoating)
• Vacuum carpeted floors daily; perform spot cleaning as required and shampoo at least once a year
• Wash and sanitize toilet room floors; clean and sanitize fixtures; maintain walls Graffiti-free as required
• Dust and wash windows, mirrors, and woodwork; clean classroom sinks; perform minor maintenance and repairs as time allows
• Set up and take down chairs, tables, AV equipment, and materials for functions
• Clean and sanitize drinking fountains daily
• Operate cleaning equipment; maintain litter-free grounds
• Safety and Security: keep walkways and stairwells clear, clean spills, remove snow or sand/ice as required; maintain entryway lights
• During heating season ensure boilers are operating
• Lock classrooms after hours and engage security system when leaving the building
• Report maintenance or security problems to the Head Custodian promptly

Qualifications

• Certificate of good health signed by a licensed physician
• Ability to read basic operating instructions
• Aptitude for successful completion of assigned tasks
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 5-60 lbs; stand/walk for periods of time (2–7.5 hours)
• Repetitive hand motions; ability to push, pull, and reach overhead; ability to operate cleaning equipment
