Position details include: 2805 Electrician; location Pearl Harbor, HI; permanent, full-time appointment with no telework; salary $37.29 to $43.53 per hour; security clearance: Secret; agency: Department of the Navy.

Duties

  • You will perform repairs, troubleshooting and installations of electrical, electrical-mechanical, interior communication, and other electrical and electronic systems as directed by the supervisor.
  • You will repair, adjust, calibrate, replace and install all components of a steering control system.
  • You will perform installations, diagnose complex problems, and repair generators, gyros, engines, bilge, and fire alarms, power panels, cables, float switches, bell, lights, pyrometers and other connected equipment.

Requirements / Conditions of employment

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Within the DoD, the appointment of retired military members within 180 days following retirement is subject to 5 U.S.C. 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Must obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

This job has a screen-out element used to determine minimum eligibility. The Screen-out Element is the ability to perform the work of the position without more than normal supervision. The resume should show ability to perform tasks such as operation/installation of various electrical systems, wiring, distribution panels, and interpretation of drawings or blueprints in the context of industrial machinery, ships’ control equipment, or related equipment.
