Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist supports a variety of HR functions and serves as a resource to managers and staff on HR-related matters. In a healthcare setting, the HR Generalist ensures compliance with healthcare-specific regulations while fostering a positive employee experience. This role provides operational support in recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training, performance management, benefits and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs.
- Support full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, interviews, offers, and onboarding coordination when needed at the site level.
- Ensure compliance with credentialing, licensure, and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain employee records in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards (e.g., DNV, HIPAA).
- Support benefits administration, annual open enrollment, and employee inquiries in coordination with the Benefits team.
- Support compliance efforts related to labor laws, healthcare accreditation, and organizational policies.
- Assist with the maintenance and keeping the HRIS up to date.
- Maintain the job descriptions and keep them up-to-date as changes occur.
- Participate in HR projects and initiatives that support employee engagement, diversity, and workforce development.
Qualifications
Education
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required.
Experience
- 2–4 years of generalist-level HR experience, preferably in a healthcare or regulated environment.
- Familiarity with employment laws and healthcare HR compliance standards (e.g., OSHA, DNV).
Skills
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, state and federal employment laws, and healthcare compliance.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, Lawson, Kronos, etc.).
