Overview
We\'re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our team. In this role, you\'ll be a key part of our operations, managing the daily HR functions and helping to create a positive and productive work environment. You\'ll handle a broad range of responsibilities, including talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance, while providing excellent support to our employees and leadership.
Pay: $65,000- $75,000k
Location: Sterling, VA
Schedule: Mon - Fri, Standard Business Hours
Responsibilities
- Talent Acquisition: Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from creating job descriptions and posting openings to screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and assisting with the offer process.
- Onboarding & Offboarding: Coordinate and conduct new-hire orientations, process new-hire paperwork, and manage the offboarding and exit interview process.
- Employee Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions and concerns. Assist in resolving workplace conflicts, grievances, and disciplinary issues.
- Benefits & Payroll Administration: Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave requests. Assist with payroll processing and ensure data accuracy.
- HRIS Management: Maintain and update employee records and data in our Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Maintain and update company policies and employee handbook as needed.
- Performance Management: Support the performance review process by tracking goals, providing guidance to managers, and maintaining performance records.
- Training & Development: Help identify training needs and coordinate development programs for employees.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3+ years of HR experience as a Generalist or in a similar role.
- Proven experience with a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) is essential.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- A strong ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with BambooHR.
- Prior HR experience in the manufacturing, which gives you a deeper understanding of the unique challenges and needs of a production-based environment.
- Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR).
