Job Overview Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP):
Compensation: $110/hour
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (On-Site)

TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in Boston, MA with our client, providing care in Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs. You will conduct psychiatric evaluations, manage medications, and support patients with complex mental health needs in a collaborative, patient-centered setting. This role is ideal for providers passionate about whole-person healing and driving better outcomes in behavioral health.
Responsibilities as the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner:
  • Psychiatric Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments and create individualized treatment plans with the care team.
  • Medication Management: Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications to ensure safe and effective treatment.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide clinical support during crises and manage complex behavioral health needs.
  • Health Monitoring: Track mental and physical health indicators, including vital signs and symptoms.
  • Patient & Family Education: Educate clients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
Qualifications for the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner:
  • Education: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required.
  • Licensure: Unrestricted Nurse Practitioner licensure in Massachusetts.
  • Certification: Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with DEA certification and BLS required (ACLS preferred).
  • Experience: Prior experience in behavioral health settings such as Partial Hospitalization (PHP) or Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications, diagnostic criteria, and evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMRs) and ability to adapt to new clinical technologies.
  • Skills & Attributes: Excellent communication and critical thinking skills, with a culturally responsive, team-oriented, and patient-first approach to care.
