About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Application Support Analyst with strong investment banking (IB) background to join our client’s team in Chicago. This role focuses on application support and DevOps for trading platforms, rather than heavy development, and offers the opportunity to work across multiple ongoing projects with a global investment bank.
The ideal candidate is a technical problem-solver with experience in FIX Protocol, RabbitMQ, SQL, and capital markets. You will play a critical role in supporting order management/trading systems, ensuring stability, and collaborating closely with business and technology stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and resolve issues across FIX protocol and order workflows.
Monitor, maintain, and support messaging queues using RabbitMQ.
Perform database queries and support using SQL.
Work across Unix/Linux and Windows environments for troubleshooting.
Support CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes) and log monitoring (ELK stack).
Collaborate with internal teams across inception, analysis, design, runtime, maintenance, and production support stages.
Engage directly with traders, quants, and technology teams to ensure system reliability.
Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and support procedures.
Required Skills & Experience
5–7 years of experience in application support or technical analyst roles within investment banking.
Strong experience with FIX protocol and derivatives trading workflows.
Hands-on experience with RabbitMQ and SQL.
Solid understanding of capital markets, investment banking, and trading platforms.
Exposure to CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, ELK).
Scripting skills in Python, Perl, TCL, or similar languages.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience supporting Fidessa derivatives or other order management/trading platforms.
Exposure to cloud technologies.
Strong ability to work in high-pressure, front-office trading support environments.
