Senior Director, Relationship Marketing Strategy reports to the VP, Relationship Marketing Strategy and is part of a team of experienced marketers focused on helping Merkle clients achieve their business goals. You will be a key member of the client account team, ensuring programs are based on deep understanding of the client’s business and strategic objectives. You will be a trusted advisor to the client and Merkle account team, balancing analytic and creative thinking, and guiding execution. In Merkle’s terminology, Strategy is an actionable idea that can be applied across services to achieve client objectives. You will demonstrate experience in planning across media and channels, developing and managing campaigns that generate measurable ROI, and working across core verticals (Insurance, Financial Services, Non-Profit, Retail, Automotive, Travel, Media and Entertainment, B2B, High Tech). To be successful, you should have a passion for problem solving and a deep understanding of how businesses, brands, and customers interact, with advanced knowledge of data and technology’s role in relationships. You will identify growth opportunities and develop strategic recommendations to support client relationships. You Will
Lead the building, development, and delivery of strategic omni-channel marketing plans. Be a subject matter expert and translate new technology—especially 1st party data marketing and CRM—into marketing ideas for clients. Demonstrate understanding of differences in marketing to customers across verticals and environments. Develop trusted, long-term relationships with key client contacts and executives. Ensure meaningful client value through best-practice solutions, skills, capabilities, and original thinking. Collaborate with team leadership and partner agencies to turn ideas into executable plans. Identify key data points and measurements to show the impact of our approach on the client’s business. You Have
Bachelor’s Degree required. 10+ years of experience in data-driven marketing—specifically CRM, email, online/offline media. Deep understanding of the customer lifecycle and how messaging strategy drives the experience. 5+ years in an agency or consulting environment. Experience developing solutions to support the sale of new services to clients. Hands-on skills using data and research to drive decisions; proficiency in Excel and research tools. Strong writing, presentation, and client-facing communication skills; proficiency in PowerPoint. Attention to detail and ability to incorporate feedback on an iterative basis. Superior multi-tasking, networking, time management, and interpersonal skills. Self-starter with intellectual curiosity, drive, and persuasion skills. Comfort working in a matrixed organization with a broad scope; average 20-50% travel (contingent on client). The annual base salary range is $136,000-$219,650. Placement within the salary range is based on experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law. This position is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation. Benefits
