Overview
Director, Design Management responsible for directing day-to-day design management operations and leading a regional team (2–5 direct reports) in alignment with project delivery across the region. Responsibilities
Drive projects from inception through turnover with emphasis on preconstruction and design phases; assume project lead at design hand-off and transition leadership to the Construction Manager at GC mobilization. Serve as main point of contact for the design management team within the designated campus or geographic region. Collaborate with the regional Director, Construction Management to ensure performance certainty across projects. Direct day-to-day design management operations and long-term strategic direction of projects; provide guidance throughout the project lifecycle to meet or exceed company expectations. Develop and maintain relationships with design partners, AHJs, general contractors, and trade partners; create tools to empower partners to innovate delivery approaches. Coordinate with the land enablement group on offsite improvements, early permitting, easements, and environmental studies for sites in the region. Coordinate with peers to maintain consistency across regions and assist in cross-regional collaboration with other construction directors. Assist in interviewing, hiring, and developing staff; report status and plans to management on a timely basis; develop departmental metrics and accountability for the regional Design Management team. Coordinate/maintain project risk registers from land enablement through turnover to Aligned Operations. Oversee onboarding of third-party design teams, manage design schedules, review design deliverables, and ensure design progression and gating. Work with SMEs, Operations, and CMs to ensure design compliance with Aligned Design Efficiency Capture (DEC) and Cost Control Log (CCL) and related matrices. Maintain close collaboration with the CM on project communications, reporting, budgeting, and quarterly leadership updates. Support day-to-day program activities with architects, consultants, equipment providers, and GCs; promote safety and compliance on site; assist with budgeting and funding requests as needed. Interface with customer through fit-out design, construction, and integration; ensure successful delivery of customer contracts. Strongly Desired Working Experience And Knowledge Of
Design engineering experience with at least 5 years of design team management experience. Building design process and design deliverables management; exposure to IPD, Design-Build, and/or construction management; data center design/construction with emphasis on MEP systems. Experience with project management software (MS Projects, Prolog, Procore, BIM 360, or similar) and CAD. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent. 12+ years of progressive experience in managing commercial construction project design programs, with data center experience required. Mechanical/Electrical background preferred; deep network within data center design/construction communities. Ability to navigate AHJs and understand local zoning, permitting, and inspection requirements; knowledge of IPD, Design-Build, and Design-Bid-Build delivery methods; familiarity with contract methods including lump sum, CM at risk, open book GMP. Advanced skills in Excel, Smartsheets and/or AutoCAD; strong written and verbal communication; ability to multi-task and manage time/change effectively. General Competencies

$190k–$230k base salary with 20% annual bonus Benefits
