per hour is $21.25 - $36.15. Pay is based on factors that vary by position, including labor markets and may include education, work experience and certifications. ALL ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISE Experts of operations, process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, merchandised and available, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise areas of the store. This team also leads inventory accuracy, merchandise set-up and pricing processes for all areas of the store. This team may also lead Food & Beverage and Food Service, providing a fresh and food safe experience. Experts enable efficient delivery of merchandise to our guests by owning pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.
GENERAL MERCHANDISE TEAM LEADER The role provides the following skills and experience: Guest service fundamentals and experience building a guest-first culture on your team Retail business fundamentals including department sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing and promotions strategies Leading a team by planning department(s) daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver sales goals, with alignment from your direct leader, while driving process improvements Leading a team of hourly team members; including interviewing, developing, coaching, evaluating and retaining talent Coaching and training hourly team members to build a team with direction from your direct leader
Typical responsibilities Execute daily/weekly workload to deliver department and store sales goals and guest engagement, including merchandising, pricing, setting and updating merchandise displays, sampling, promotions and price changes Educate your team on operational procedures (merchandise setup, stock levels, inventory impact, store profitability, and product availability) Help assess reporting to identify gaps in GM processes and develop a plan for your leader to review and approve Be an expert of operations, accuracy, process and efficiency Assist with daily execution of tasks such as receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and posting promotional signs for GM areas Assist and lead inventory accuracy, merchandise setup and maintenance, and pricing for all store areas Assign daily tasks to team members based on workload and guest traffic patterns, aligned to business priorities Help establish clear goals and expectations and hold team members accountable Lead pick, pack and ship fulfillment work accurately (if applicable) and assess fulfillment reporting to identify gaps and develop a plan Collaborate with all teams and leaders to identify key priorities and ensure the store is guest-ready Stay informed about relevant trends and products; relay Target communications Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team; support onboarding and development Work a schedule that aligns to guest and business needs (early morning, evening, overnight shifts and weekends) Support guest services such as back-up cashier, digital fulfillment, while maintaining compliance with laws Demonstrate inclusivity, ethical conduct, safety and compliance; lead the team to follow these standards Lead and demonstrate a safety culture, identify hazards, assist with incident response, and report injuries timely Model security processes to enhance in-store security Support merchandise protection strategies across the total store Model welcoming experiences by greeting guests and assisting with daily tasks Engage with guests to solve specific needs and thank guests for shopping at Target If applicable, follow safe and secure training and processes as a key carrier

Minimum requirements High school diploma or equivalent Age 18 or older Previous retail experience preferred but not required Ability to lead and hold others accountable Ability to communicate on multiple devices and operate handheld scanners and other equipment Work independently and as part of a team Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently Remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within timeframes Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members Effective communication skills
