Overview

California State Association of Counties (CSAC) is seeking a legal professional in a dual role as the Assistant General Counsel of CSAC and the Associate Director of the County Counsels’ Association of California (CCAC). CSAC, governed by elected county supervisors, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocacy, client services, and public-private partnerships. CCAC is composed of public attorneys who provide legal advice and representation to California’s 58 counties and other units of local government. The Assistant General Counsel will provide solutions-oriented legal support and assist the General Counsel in overseeing a full range of issues. Under the direction of the General Counsel, the Assistant General Counsel provides legal advice, counsel, and representation to the Association, including legal advocacy through CSAC’s Litigation Coordination Program, and its affiliate organizations, notably the CCAC. This position is actively involved with CSAC’s Litigation Coordination Program sponsored by CSAC and administered by CCAC. Responsibilities

Provide legal advice, counsel, and representation to the Association and CCAC. Support legal advocacy through CSAC’s Litigation Coordination Program. Collaborate with the General Counsel to oversee a broad range of legal matters. Engage with CSAC, CCAC, and affiliate organizations in related legal matters. Qualifications

Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school or an equivalent legal education recognized by the State Bar of California. Active membership in the State Bar of California. 3 years of relevant experience; 5 years of relevant experience preferred. Compensation and Schedule

The annual salary range is $150,000 to $225,000 DOQ. The work schedule features a flexible hybrid arrangement with in-office time in the Sacramento office for meetings and events, potential unscheduled meetings on short notice to address critical issues, and occasional travel outside of Sacramento for conferences and meetings. CSAC offers a benefits package including retirement through the San Bernardino Retirement System. How to Apply
